NFPA 70E & NFPA 70 Update—Fall 2008
NFPA 70E (Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace) and NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) are standards that influence power system design throughout the United States. In the attached "Launch 'n Learn" presentation Thomas Domitrovich, Eaton's National Application Engineer, provides an update on recent and proposed changes to these documents that may effect the way you design systems in the future.
Eaton’s “Launch ‘n Learns” are byte-sized technical and application presentations delivered straight to your desk, served up in 30 minutes or less. You can pause and resume this presentation at any time. Click here to launch….and learn.

Product Spotlight
Introducing the Series NRX Breaker
Eaton introduces the Series NRX Low Voltage Power Circuit Breaker. When building space is at a premium, or when system upgrading requires additional functionality, Series NRX is the solution. Featuring high-interrupting and short-time withstand, a small size, reduced weight and broad trip-unit capabilities, the Series NRX provides the capabilities of a power circuit breaker in the compact size of a molded case breaker.
The Series NRX breaker is currently available in UL 1558 Switchgear, UL 891 Switchboards, UL 845 Motor Control Centers, as well as IEC 60439-1/EN 60439-1 LV Switchgear and control gear applications.
Extended Power Ratings on 9395 UPS
Eaton has extended the power ratings for the 9395 uninterruptible power system (UPS) to 1100 kVA. The 9395 System Bypass Module (SBM) makes it possible to parallel UPSs with non-identical kVA ratings. The 1100 kVA UPS, part of the Powerware series, is an extension of the 825 kVA system. The SBM technology has the capability to parallel up to 32 power modules of the UPS. The SBM cabinet features a LCD touch screen to display system and UPS status and control system operation.
Save Time and Money with the Power Xpert Gateway 600A
The latest addition to the Power Xpert family is the Power Xpert Gateway 600A (PXG600A). The PXG600A makes integrating power equipment, both Eaton and 3rd party, onto an Ethernet network fast and easy. The onboard Web server provides a ready “solution in a box”—no custom programming is needed to manage and monitor your critical power equipment. The PXG600A offers data logging, event logging, e-mail capability and waveform capture and downloading. It also allows for use of common programs such as Excel and COMTRADE to easily view, save and archive data logs, event logs and waveforms. This detailed information allows for quick decision making, ongoing analysis, and energy conservation.
