While Eaton already has a reputation for its current green products, such as Power Xpert® meters and Pow-R-Command™ lighting and load control solutions, the company is dedicated to providing more options for energy-saving technologies. To that goal, Eaton will support a $45.4 million grant to produce plug-in hybrid electric power systems for 378 vehicles, the nation’s largest commercial hybrid deployment to date. This funding is part of the recently announced $2.4 billion in grants by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). This will be the most comprehensive electrical vehicle program in the country—both in commercial and residential—and it will take place over the next 18 months. Click here to read more. Department of Energy Announced Retrofit Ramp-Up Program As part of the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) of 2009, the Department of Energy (DOE) announced a new $450 million program that is designed to serve as a catalyst for nationwide energy upgrades. Experts estimate that the Retrofit Ramp-Up program could save $100 million annually in utility bills for households and businesses. Click here to read more. On October 7–9, 2009 Eaton will be exhibiting at IFMA's World Workplace 2009 Conference & Expo. We will also be involved in a panel discussion during this event. On October 27–29, 2009, we will be exhibiting at Solar Power International 2009 in Anaheim, California.
